Betty Ferguson Foundation – Vine to Wine Event

On Sunday, April 1st, Jill catered desserts for 200 people at the Vine to Wine event held by the Betty Ferguson Foundation. She donated her desserts for the third year in a row to benefit to the Foundation, whose mission is “to train, develop and empower women and youth to be a vital force in society.” The event took place at the Bridgeport Lake Club.

Repertory East Playhouse Production

This year, Jill has sponsored the Repertory East Playhouse production of the “Last Five Years,” and is also currently on the Board of Directors. Jill donated desserts and catered the opening night of the production.The Repertory East Playhouse is a professional theatre company in Newhall that puts on productions all year long.

Soldier’s Angels Foundation

In December, Jill became involved with an organization called Soldier’s Angels, whose mission is to provide aid and comfort to the military and its families through letters, care packages, and other comfort items. She supported the organization by donating boxes of cookies to wounded soldiers who are back in the U.S. after becoming injured.

"The Better Half" of KHTS:

Jill is the co-host of “The Better Half,” a local radio show on KHTS every Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The show covers many different topics of interest, such as recipes, local events, women’s issues etc. The show also interviews local small business owners in order to provide a forum for discussion that would otherwise not be readily available in a radio show format.

Outstanding Young Californian

Jill was recently named “Outstanding Young Californian” by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in California. Having first been nominated for this distinction by a representative of the Santa Clarita Chapter, Jill now shares this title with the two other chapter members – a “first” in the history of the Junior Chamber – and is one of only ten winners in all of California.

SCV Theatre Project

Jill is a part of the Corporate 100 for the SCV Theatre Project whose mission is to develop a Regional Theatre Company in the Santa Clarita Valley offering Broadway-caliber productions at affordable prices and to create a New Works Initiative - an exciting and nurturing environment for the development of new plays and musicals.

Tidbits Newspaper

Jill currently writes a weekly column in Tidbits Newspaper, a local, fun facts paper that is distributed to over 10,000 readers weekly and found in over 200 locations in the Santa Clarita Valley.
